Mid Sussex is a District in the South East of England located a short distance from Gatwick, less than an hour from London and twenty minutes from Brighton. The Council offices are situated a short walk from Haywards Heath train station which provides excellent rail links to London, Brighton and Worthing. Mid Sussex District Council is looking to recruit a Trainee Solicitor to join our busy Legal Services Team.  This is an exciting opportunity to work for a Council with ambition. Mid Sussex has one of the most significant programmes of growth in the South East of England. You would gain experience in a range of areas including planning, property, litigation, licensing and general local government administrative law.  The successful candidate will have successfully completed the Legal Practice Course, be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative with an ability to provide creative solutions and have the confidence to take on new areas of work. You will have good interpersonal and communication skills, be confident in using IT systems and have an interest in local authority legal work
