Digital Content Designer

About the role
Working in our multidisciplinary Digital and Technology team, you will play a key role in improving our customers’ online experience. You will champion user needs in the design of user-centred content across the range of Mid Sussex Council’s digital services. You will collaborate with stakeholders to design and publish web content centred around those needs. You will also have the opportunity to significantly shape the Council’s Digital Strategy and the approach we take to transforming how we work and serve our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with and guiding stakeholders to develop, publish, and manage digital content.
- Creating usable, accessible content for our websites and digital services.
- Ensuring the consistency of content and the design process across the Council.
- Helping to design the digital experience for our customers, supporting users to reach their goals through good content design.
- Ensuring website content is current and accurate, developing and upholding our content standards.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define our approach to designing and managing content.
- Helping to develop our approach to accessibility and reducing digital exclusion.

About you
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Experience of designing, publishing, and managing web content
- Experience of user-centred design principles, and a history of translating user needs into real-world solutions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivation, personal resilience, and adaptability
- Analytical and project management skills to drive work forward whilst managing competing priorities.
